Prepping and tools you will need

Having the right tools at hand is very important when it comes to applying lashes. Although, it would have been great if you only needed a pair of fake lashes and a lash glue, we definitely recommend that you use a few more tools. Especially, if you’re a lash-newbie the following tools are essentials when applying DUFFLashes.

What you need:

  • Eyelash curler
  • Fake eyelashes
  • Eyelash applicator or tweezers
  • Small scissor
  • Your favorite mascara
  • Lash glue

If you got everything above, you’re ready to apply your falsies!

Step by step: How to apply false eyelashes

Step 1: Curl your natural eyelashes with a lash curler.

Step 2: Apply a thin layer of mascara. It’s important that you apply the mascara as close as you can to the roots of your lashes by wiggling the bristles back and forth for an even coat. By doing this, you’ll create an illusion of a light eyeliner effect.

Step 3: Soften the lash band of the fake lashes with a quick wiggle of the lashes. This helps to reshape the lash so it will hug the curve of your eyelid and making it easier to apply. Fake lashes that are too straight and stiff won’t adhere to your lids neither easily contour to the shape of the eye. So, remove the lash from the box and bend the lash band back and forth to curve the lashes for a proper fit. You can also wrap the lash around your finger with the band facing your finger.

Step 5: Measure the lashes and cut them with a scissor so that the length of the band fits your lash line. Make sure not to cut at the specific end of the band that faces towards the inner corner of your eye.

Step 6: Apply a thin layer of lash glue along the base of your fake lash. Personally, we prefer black lash glue, but you can also use a clear one.

Step 7: Let the glue dry for 20-30 seconds.

Step 8: Use a tweezer or an applicator while your eye is slightly closed to apply the fake eyelashes across the base of your lids. Start by placing the center of the band to your lash line, and thereafter the ends of the band. Press gently and hold the lash down for 10 seconds.

Step 9: Repeat on each eyelash.

Step 10: Your lash-look is completed, and your eyes look bigger, brighter, and more prominent!

How to clean your DUFFLashes the right way

To ensure that you get the best out of your DUFFLashes, we recommend that you take good care of them by cleaning them after every 2-3 uses. Read on for information on how to care and maintain the quality of your false lashes.

If you use DUFF Eyelash Glue, it’s easier for you to remove the glue from the fake lashes after use. DUFF Eyelash Glue is gentle towards your natural lashes and doesn’t damage your false eyelashes.

Removing false lashes with care:

Step 1: Grab the lash by the outer corner and slowly peel the band away from your natural lash. Don’t grab or pull to harshly but try to remove the lash gently by pulling slowly.

Step 2:
Use your fingers or a tweezer gently to peel off the glue residue. If you look closely enough, you'll see the remaining strip of glue stuck on the band of your fake lash. You'll want to peel the remaining off so it’s ready to be reused.

Step 3:
Store the false eyelashes in their original box to maintain their shape.

Our best tips and tricks for falsies

Even though you probably get well along with our step-by-step guide, you here got some of our extra tips that might help you achieve an even better result!

1. The best way of cutting fake lashes

When it comes to false lashes, one size doesn't fit all. It would be amazing if every single pair of lashes was perfectly customized for you. But unfortunately, that's usually not the case, and you’re gonna have to bust out the scissors. Start by measuring the lash by laying it down above your real lashes, of course without glue, and then open your eye. This will give you an idea of how the lash will sit on your unique eye shape and how much to snip away. Your fake lashes should have the right length that fits your eyelids – and trimming makes them more comfortable to wear and prevents them from popping up.

As a rule of thumb for this purpose, we recommend that you leave a small space approx. 1-1,5 cm. free at the inner corner of your eyes. If you place your falsies too close to your inner corner, they’ll annoy your eyes.

2. Apply eyeliner before false lashes

A great tip is to remember to apply eyeliner along the lash line before applying your lashes. Especially, combined with a black lash glue, it’s an easy way to hide if your lashes aren’t applied close enough to your natural lashes. Bonus tip: Black glue will blend into your eyeliner better. We prefer DUFF’s Eyelash Glue in black since it blends right into the lashes.

We can also recommend DUFF’s Perfect Lash Adhesive Liner. It’s a new and innovative 2-in-1 eyeliner and glue that will make it incredibly easy to apply your lashes. Apply the glue liner on your lash line and apply the false eyelash afterwards.

3. Never apply mascara on fake lashes

All DUFFLashes are handmade which allows you to get the most natural looking lash-effect. Skip the two coats of mascara if you plan to reuse the fake lashes again! The added mascara will make the lashes stick together and raise the clump factor. So, the first thing you want to avoid is to apply a big blob of mascara on your falsies, as it will get clumby and give you a thicker unnatural look. We instead recommend that you apply your mascara before! And with our Supreme Lash Mascara you can give your natural eyelashes a lot of length and volume while it lasts all day! As the mascara is enriched with Cactus oil, Castor oil, Argan oil, Biotin, Silica, and Vitamin E, it's nurturing for your natural lashes as well. Win-win!
