Step-by-step: How to reuse and care for false eyelashes
If you weren’t born with lashes that demand attention, a gorgeous pair of DUFFLashes will absolutely draw more attention to your eyes. False eyelashes add shape to your face and open your eyes, so they appear more visible. But how do you clean your falsies and make sure that you’ll be able to reuse them 25+ times without damaging the quality of the lashes?
If you follow these steps, you can safely and effectively clean your fake lashes, restore them to new, and get even more wear out of them! We’ll share our best tips on do's and don'ts, how to clean, and store your fake lashes! Read on for more information that you definitely will need if you’re a lash-lover!
Step 1: Be gentle
The high quality of DUFFLashes and their special combination of materials make it important to handle the lashes with care. If you wanna keep the quality of your lashes, always remember to grab the lash by the lash line, and not the hairs, when you choose to remove it from the box or from your eyes.
Step 2: Remove the glue
It’s actually quite simple to care for your DUFFLashes, especially if you use DUFF Eyelash Glue. Our lash glue makes it easier for you to remove the glue from the fake lashes after use, and an extra bonus effect is that it’s gentle towards your natural lashes as well as your false lashes.
Always remember after use to remove any excess glue that is still on the lash band. An easy way to do this is by grabbing a tweezer or using your fingers to gently pick off any of the glue residue that may still be on the band. If you look closely enough, you'll see the remaining strip of glue stuck on the band of your fake lash. You'll want to peel the remaining off so it’s ready to be reused.
It’s really important that you make sure to only remove the glue that’s stuck on the lash line and avoid pulling on the lash band or the hairs.
As you can see, there’s no need for a makeup remover or lash foaming cleanser! And btw never let your DUFFLashes soak in water or makeup remover as it will damage the quality of your lashes, but a tweezer or your fingers can easily do the work!
Step 3: Store in case
After you have removed the glue from your falsies, they’re ready to get used again! A good tip to keep in mind is to store the fake lashes in their original box to maintain their shape. Moreover, you’ll avoid that your renewed lashes get in touch with water or makeup cosmetics, especially with oil, that will damage the quality of the hairs.
Avoid applying mascara on fake lashes
All DUFFLashes are hand-made which allows you to get the most natural looking lash-effect. We ensure high quality, as our lashes are made of sterilized real human hair and Korean silk, which means that the lashes require special care. If you wanna maintain the 3D lash effect and avoid damaging the quality of the hairs, skip the two coats of mascara if you plan to reuse the fake lashes again! The added mascara will make the lashes stick together and raise the clump factor. So, the first thing you want to avoid is to apply a big blob of mascara on your falsies, as it will get clumby and give you a thicker unnatural look. If needed, we recommend that you apply mascara on your natural lashes before application!
If you already have taken the chance and applied mascara on your fake lashes, then, after you have removed the lashes, try gently to remove the mascara from the lashes. To do this, dip your cotton swab in an oil-free makeup remover, and gently try to stroke your false eyelashes with the cotton swab to remove any remaining mascara from the lashes.
Bonus tip
An easy way to keep your lashes curly and fluffy, if they’ve been wet and therefore lose their curl, is to use an eyelash curler to reshape them. You can either choose to curl them while they’re applied or before application. And voila – they’re gorgeous and ready for use!
