Eyelash extensions vs Extended lash

Lash extensions vs extended lash

Voluminous and long lashes have been popular for a long time and are also one of the big makeup trends in 2023. There are many ways to get beautiful and long lashes and one of them is lash extensions.

If you haven't tried lash extensions, you have certainly heard of them! But in a busy life, it can be difficult to find time to visit the salon to get beautiful and long lashes. Another thing that may keep you from the salon is the price of a lash extensions set, which also needs to be maintained every month.

That's why it has become popular to make your own eyelash extensions at home, also known as DIY lashes. At DUFFBEAUTY, we haven't let this trend pass us by and therefore, we have launched our own collection Extended Lash

In this blog post, I will tell you about the two different eyelash extension types, so you can find out which extension method you prefer.

What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are a treatment performed by a trained lash technician, where false artificial is glued to your own natural lashes.

The lashes come in different lengths, thicknesses, and colors, as well as degrees of curviness. You typically get one hair glued to each of your lashes, which is called single lashes, but there are also other eyelash extension types. Such as volume lashes where you get two to nine lashes glued to each of your natural lashes for a more glamourous look.

And now you might be thinking, are eyelash extensions harmful? Lash extensions can wear and tear on your own lashes and you also need to be more careful around your eyes with makeup remover, as well as avoid oily makeup and skincare. But lash extensions alone can't harm your natural lashes - incorrect application, too heavy lashes, and lack of care, can. Therefore, it’s important to choose the right place to have your lashes done.

How long do eyelash extensions last?

It takes about two hours to get a new set done, and the result is a significantly longer and fuller set of lashes, that last up to four weeks before needing to be refilled. Your own lash cycle will also play a role in how long your lash extensions last, and how long there will be between your refills.

Extended Lash

As mentioned earlier, it has become popular to do eyelash extensions at home, as an alternative to going to the salon.

There may be many reasons to choose this method, which I will discuss more detailed, but firstly I will introduce you to our Extended Lash collection.

Extend Lash is our eyelash system that is applied under the lashes instead of on top - just like with lash extensions. In no time, you can get a beautiful lash look at home that is alike the eyelash extensions we know from the salon.

The lashes can last up to 7 days and can then be reused after a simple cleaning.

The benefits of doing your lashes yourself

So, what are the benefits of choosing to do your own lashes instead of going to the salon?

With DIY lashes, you can get beautiful lashes whenever it suits you. You don't have to think about whether the lash technician has time for you, or if you have time to get your lash extensions done, and how it fits into your busy everyday life.

In addition, you of course also save a lot of time by doing your lashes yourself. The more times you apply your lashes, the better and faster you become at it. And you don't have to think about waiting time or transportation back and forth from the salon, which is only a plus if you ask us.

A final reason why you should consider doing your lashes yourself, is that it is gentler on your natural lashes, and you still have beautiful lashes even if you don't have lashes on.
